Recent Data Privacy Breaches at Prep/High Schools:
Warren County Community School (Lebanon, Ohio)
A four-page list containing more than 140 students’ names, addresses, social security numbers and birth dates (along with their parents’ information) was found in a dumpster near the school.
Bailey Middle School (Nashville, Tennessee)
A person walking by the school finds paperwork containing dozens of students’ names, social security numbers and disability records.
East Burke High School (Morganton, N. Carolina)
School’s website exposed files containing confidential information, including names, social security numbers, and unlisted phone numbers of staff and employees. The breach existed for five years. Over 200 people were affected.
